Build It International is a UK and Zambia registered NGO, operating in Zambia since 2006. We have developed a sustainable, livelihoods based approach to community infrastructure provision. Our core activity is to train young men and women in building skills so that they can go on to earn a living. We are a registered training institution and deliver training through our programme of community building projects including primary schools, secondary schools and health clinics. Each of our projects. By the end of 2015 we will have completed 34 projects and trained over 400 men and women with a 97% pass rate.
Build It International is seeking at least two new 
site agents 
to supplement its project delivery team in Zambia.Following the successful completion of your probationary period an initial one or two year contract will be offered.
Role:
To be responsible for the successful delivery of a community infrastructure or similar project valued at approx. KR1M – KR2M. The Site Agent ensures project delivery on time, within budget and to a high quality standard following BII project management systems, specifications and requirements and in a safe and healthy working environment. To act at all times as an ambassador for BII.
Programme Manager: 
We are seeking an exceptional candidate – a dynamic and experienced individual who shall be responsible for the planning and management of all Build It International’s building skills training activities.
Specific Responsibilities:
Training Into Work
• Develop and manage the annual Training Into Work work-plan, including Basic Skills Training – includes responsibility for technical, budgetary, reference materials and administrative matters relating to the programme implementation.
• Ensure value for money in project delivery as well as delivery to the desired standards
• Manage Build It’s training staff and freelance trainers and coordinate with other staff members for the successful delivery of the Training Into Work programme
• Monitor and regularly review the training programme and suggest improvements including developing Build It’s training modules and resources
• Develop links with employers in the construction sector to identify opportunities for our graduates
• Centre for Excellence
• Coordinate and liaise with the Centre for Excellence Steering Group, internal and external stakeholders for the effective and efficient planning and delivery of training services from the Centre (from 2017).
• Contribute to the production of a business plan that will further define the Centre’s role, key partnerships and linkages to our wider objectives including advocacy.
• Work with the Country Director to establish the required partnerships with other organisations to deliver a successful project.
Project Manager 
will ensure that the project is delivered on time, to budget and of high quality
Specific Responsibilities:
• Planning and coordination
• Develop and implement the overall project delivery plan
• Coordinate project Steering Group and liaise with internal and external stakeholders for the effective and efficient delivery of the project.
• Gain planning permission, organise connection of utilities and ensure all other legal and administrative duties are carried out for the construction of the facility.
• Work with the design team to ensure that all drawings and details (including BOQ) are consistent with the project design brief and sufficient to meet our needs.
• Support the Country Director to establish partnerships with companies and other organisations to secure contributions to the building of the facility
Project Management
• Develop and maintain the project delivery programme using MS Projects.
• Produce a project budget (all phases).
• Monitor and manage expenditure to ensure the project is delivered within budget.
• Adhere to BII processes and systems for project management.
• Work effectively with Finance and Procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Oversee the selection of contractors and then manage them to ensure standards of workmanship are adhered to.
• Produce weekly progress reports
• Ensure all statutory and BII inspections are scheduled and carried out in a timely manner so as not to delay, incur costs, or cause risk to BII.
• Work with the BII Trainer to co-ordinate the training schedule for the 50 trainees
Project health and safety of all personnel on site:
• Follow health and safety protocols both BII and Statutory
• On-going health and safety risk assessment when BII is managing work on site. This includes consideration of BII personnel, Contractor’s personnel, Client’s personnel, and any other visitors to the site at any time.
Line Management and Key Relationships
The role reports to the Construction Operations Manager and works closely with:
• Centre for Excellence Steering Group
• Country Director
• Financial Manager and the Finance and Administration Officer
• Logistics and Procurement Officers
• A+ Architects and their structural engineers and other advisors
• Line manage site agents when required
