MANAGER, CONSULTANCY & TRAINING UNIT
Purpose:
To plan, direct, coordinate and control operations of the Consultancy and Training Unit to maximise efficiency and revenue generation.
Responsibilities:
- Initiating, planning, designing and implementing new training programmes in the Consultancy and Training Unit.
- Maintaining effective communication with clients and business partners within and outside the university.
- Ensuring that the unit provides effective services in form of ICT consultancy and training to both internal and external clients.
- Providing effective project management for those involved in consultancy and training work.
- Reviewing and approving project documents.
- Supervising tendering procedures and putting together proposals.
- Providing marketing strategy for the Consultancy and Training programmes.
- Identifying and scheduling of trainers for all the programmes within and outside the University of Zambia.
- Ensuring that all equipment and assets for the Consultancy and Training Unit are well documented.
- Keeping abreast with information technology concepts and technologies, general business practices and customer development so as to initiate, plan, design and implement new training programmes to meet market needs.
- Carrying out market research to determine services to offer to clients.
- Assisting the Director in the management of human resource functions such as establishment, contracts administration, leave management, recruitment, separation, reward, succession planning, performance management, training and development, promotions, deployments and transfers.
- Assisting the Director in enforcing staff discipline in accordance with the provisions of the University Act and Disciplinary Code of Conduct.
- Participating in the preparation of the Centre’s budget.
- Preparing quarterly and annual operational performance reports for the unit.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Certificate or its equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems or ICT related field.
- Five years working experience in ICT with two (2) years in business administration.
- Must have MCSE. v) Must have Project Management Skills.
- High degree of literacy skills required in writing budget and project proposals.
- Should be able to review project proposals and technical reports.
- Member of the Computer Society of Zambia.
