TITLE: Luc Hoffmann Institute Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Science (CBCS) is a multi- disciplinary research group in pure and applied ecology comprising ten UQ-based academics and over 20 post- doctoral fellows, five research officers, and over 30 postgraduate students who are widely published internationally and have extensive research backgrounds.
This position is being offered through the partnership between CBCS and The Luc Hoffmann Institute (LHI). LHI is an independent research hub responding to global change based at World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF). The mission of LHI is to co-create solutions and build capacity to address complex environmental, social and economic challenges to achieve conservation impact.
The successful appointee will engage on a multi-insitutional Luc Hoffmann Institute Project on threat, driver, actor dynamics. He/she will work with stakeholders to understand how information on the drivers and threats to biodiversity at different scales is perceived and used by decision-makers and practitioners to support innovative conservation solutions. There will be exciting opportunities to work across the conservation science and policy interface in collaboration with leading conservation scientists and practitioners.
Applicants should be highly motivated, hold a PhD in a relevant field and have experience in working on social dimensions of conservation and in conducting stakeholder research and engagement in developing countries. The applicant should also have excellent organisational and communication skills. Applicants should have a strong desire to work at the interface of conservation science, policy, and management and to conduct collaborative research with stakeholders.
