Internship - Project Management Office - Digital Recording Project


Required Documents for This Application

  • Two reference letters (one academic).

  • Scanned copies of official academic transcripts that state your courses, results and completion date. 
  • One short essay on a subject relevant to the work of the Court (maximum of 750 words, single spaced, type written). 

Contract Duration 
Interns are required to work full time for a period between three and six months (to be agreed to prior to commencement). Internship placements shall not be extended beyond six months.  

Organisational Context 
The International Criminal Court has moved to its Permanent Premises at the beginning of 2016.  Together with this move, it was necessary to set up a new audio visual recording system for the new courtrooms that allowed for the creation, maintenance and archive of high definition digital media files.  In order to achieve this, the Digital Recording Project works closely with stakeholders across the various Organs of the Court, and primarily with the following Sections, Court Management Section, Information Management Services Section, and Public Information and Outreach Section.  The project is ongoing, and we are currently looking for an individual who can work in the Project Management Office.  He/she will be directly reporting to the Project Manager and will be supporting in the execution of the project activities. 

Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Support in updating project documents such as project plan, issues list, risk register, etc.;
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders where actions are required and help ensure that tasks are completed on time;
  • Organise and participate in project meetings;
  • Draft meeting minutes and project communications;
  • Support change management initiatives such as coordination of training to end users;
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications 
Education: 
All Candidates must have a degree or be in the final stages of their studies at a recognised university. Candidates are expected to have a very good record of academic performance.  

Experience: 
Internship placements focus on candidates in the early stages of their professional careers therefore; practical experience is not an essential prerequisite for selection. However, practical experience that is relevant to the work of the Court may be considered an asset. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrable coordination and communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to multicultural and multilingual working environments. 
  • Possesses strong teamwork skills (listens, consults and communicates proactively). 
  • Has acquired a good standard of computer skills (including Microsoft Office applications). 

Knowledge of Languages: 
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, French or English, is required. Working knowledge of the other is desirable. Knowledge of another official language of the Court (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an asset. [This can be changed accordingly] 

Remuneration 
Please note that the ICC is not able to provide participants in the Internship Programme with remuneration, nor is it possible to provide any reimbursement for any expenses incurred during the internship. Accordingly, applicants must have the necessary resources or other financial support for the duration of the internship for which they have been selected.
