Managing Director: USAID EQUIP Zambia

Right to Care has the following vacancy within the EQUIP Grant in Zambia and encourages suitably qualified candidates to apply

Main Purpose of Job : Managing and overseeing the execution of all operational and programmatic requirements of Right to Care and EQUIP in Zambia

Position: Managing Director: USAID EQUIP Zambia

Location: Zambia

Reporting to: Deputy Chief of Party

Qualifications required:

5-10 years in HIV/TB implementation
5 years health management of donor funded programmes in multiple countries
MPH, MBA or other health related degree
Strong Computer literacy
Required Experience:

5-10 years of experience in leading or managing health system programs or operations.
Senior leadership in large USAID awards.
Work experience in one or more African countries.
Ability to work with high-level government and health officials and interacting with donor organisations.
Demonstrated experience in writing and presenting health programmes
Relevant experience in similar settings and health programmes with significant management responsibility, including supervisory experience of professional staff.
Excellent organisational, analytical and results-oriented skills.
Knowledge in USAID rules, regulations and reporting requirements
Experience in managing and overseeing large multi-country budgets
Fluency in English and a preference for local language
Knowledge of labour practices and legislation
Ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, under a fast paced environment with strict deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
High standards of integrity
Key Performance Areas amongst others include:

Oversee program management and operations of the project offices.
In collaboration with the management team and technical staff, develop the operation budget and work plan components
Coordinate and draft reports with field staff and head office
Oversee implementation of project support activities, and ensure performance against targets. Take corrective action where necessary.
Manage support functional budgets.
Identify and directly supervise field-based team of high- performing program staff.
Work with Finance & Admin to ensure that all project activities are implemented in accordance with USAID and Right to Care policies and procedures.
Represent the EQUIP programme and liaise with government and partner organizations as necessary.
Based in Malawi Lilongwe with international travel as required.
Ensure service delivery interventions are implemented rapidly, in-line with project plans and established outcomes.
Oversee the staff and consultants used in implementing the activities to ensure an environment is maintained that enhances a positive workplace, which embraces diversity, innovation, responsiveness’ and quality.
Attend local, regional and international meetings as required
