PURPOSE: Facilitate and coordinate the technical implementation of livelihood and Resilience (THRIVE) project activities in the Area Programs as well as provide/facilitate technical support to partners and community members which will lead to achieving project results and sustainable impact on child well - being.


Work with partners to organize and participate in the local value chain analysis to ascertain constraints or gaps and identify best solutions that will necessitate project interventions implementation and development of Inclusive market systems that engage and benefit a range of actors including the poor, women, youth, ethnic minorities and/or other marginalized groups who are often excluded—or even exploited—by traditional market systems.

Facilitate/Conduct and coordinate the development of community project training/capacity building to increase productivity and profitability at household level with a an empowered world view lens which supports biblical community development for community leaders, church leaders, youths and children to appreciate holistic development.

Facilitate implementation of the Public-Private Partnership at Area Program level to enhance performance of agri-business through promotion of appropriate modern business development models such as bulking/aggregation & marketing centers, agro dealers, business service providers, community savings and loan groups, MFIs investments.

Promote the development of prioritized agricultural value chains, develop a comprehensive database and profiles of all existing agri-businesses in the district, their locations, production levels, capital base and their work with farmers.

Organize agricultural investment forums to attract private sector investments to promote and support accelerated agribusiness development that helps diversify incomes and create jobs for the targeted smallholder farmers and other value chain players.

Facilitate strengthening and formalization of Commercial Producer Groups to enhance group/bulk marketing of produce and input sourcing.

Facilitate community learning’s and information exchange through establishment of farmer Field Schools (FFSs), demonstration plots, Field days, market days, farmer exchange learning tours as part of confidence and capacity building.

Work closely with National Office Livelihood Specialist staff on all agriculture, natural resources management, agri-business and investment opportunities to support accelerated investments by the private sector in the selected agricultural value chains.

Facilitate formation and strengthening of savings/loans groups to increase financial inclusions for smallholder farmers/entrepreneurs and create linkages to external MFIs like Vision Fund Zambia (VFZ).

Facilitate natural resources management trainings through promotion of climate smart agricultural practices e.g. conservation farming, farmer managed natural regeneration (FMNR), watershed management and water harvesting, irrigation systems and layouts etc.

Monitor project activities, prepare and submit monthly reports regarding the progress and results of project interventions on the targeted population.


Diploma in Agricultural Sciences, agribusiness, natural resource management and any related field. University Degree is an added advantage.
At least 3 years of experience in related field.
Experience with donor-funded and community projects is preferably.

Competent with Computers: Ms Office packages, Data handling and usage of Internet
Committed Christian, with strong integrity.
Ability to demonstrate community development skills and practical positive experiences.
Good Monitoring and report writing skills.
Able to work with minimum supervision.
Able to meet strict deadlines.
Able to ride a motorbike an added advantage.
Working knowledge of the local language preferred
Perform any other duties as required.
Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: 90% Field based, 10% Office work
Travel: Local travel and as need arise international
On call: Preparedness to work outside normal working hours
