Job Title: Finance Manager
Reports to: Managing Director
iDE Zambia is incubating a small agricultural start-up (separate business entity) with the vision to bring markets to smallholder farmers through an accessible ICT platform. This start-up is recruiting for a Finance Manager. As this business is just getting off the ground, the Finance Manager will lead the way, in collaboration with the Managing Director, in setting up robust financial systems to ensure that the operations run smoothly and audits are passed successfully. After system setup is complete, the FM will be responsible for managing all cash flows, attending to all financial and administrative duties of the business and reporting on financial performance.
Job Duties
  • Develop and install financial system during start up;
  • Lead in drawing up and operationalizing the business’s admin and finance strategy for the start up phase and subsequent scale up;
  • Responsible for financial management and accountability, including business budgeting and revenue targets, asset management, and full statutory and regulatory compliance;
  • Responsible for day to day bookkeeping and attending to all operational financial duties;
  • Lead in establishing and overseeing all procurement processes;
  • Coordinate and manage company expenses;
  • Lead the set up of client payment systems for company
  • Degree in accountancy (ACCA, CIMA or ZICA);
  • Member of ZICA;
  • In-depth knowledge of Zambian tax laws, IFRS;
  • 8 years professional experience managing financial and contractual aspects in private sector context;
  • Ability to adopt new software and develop financial management systems;
  • Excellent time and people management skills;
  • High numeracy and strong analytical skills;
  • Highly proficient in using MS Office suite.
