FUNCTION: Human Resources and Administration
LOCATION: Lusaka ,Zambia
To provide HR and Administration services support in consultation with the Country Manager Zambia and the Regional Head Southern Africa region.
Reports to: Regional Head Southern Africa region with a dotted line responsibility to the Director HR and Administration KickStart International based in Nairobi-Kenya.
Staff directly reporting to this post: Admin Assistant/Office Assistant
Works with: Closely with the Country Manager Zambia and all teams within the Southern Africa region
  • Provides consultation, input and feedback on human resource and Admin issues within the region
  • Management of the Zambia office front desk and office operations
  • Provide guidance on KickStart policies, procedures where necessary
  • Administers compensation and benefit plans within Zambia and other countries within the region where applicable.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Zambia and other southern African countries HR and Admin operational plans.
  • Assist in workforce planning and staffing activities within the country program with a focus on diversity
  • Manages employee communication within the country program. This includes bulletin board management, employee mailings, assisting with employee meetings and other such activities to communicate with employees on relevant topics
  • Manages training and development activities within the country program, including planning for training, administering where possible and delivering.
  • Manage the administration team and the admin operations in Zambia and within the region where applicable
  • Any other responsibility as may be assigned.
  • Minimum of a Diploma in relevant course with at least 2 years’ experience as Human Resource generalist in an International NGO or corporate set up.
  • Hands-on Administration experience.
  • Planning, organizational and analytical skills and a team player
  • Excellent Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Skills in building and maintaining relationship
  • Must have in depth knowledge of HR Management Information System
  • Hands on and self-driven
  • Willingness and flexible to travel and work all over Zambia and among the poor communities
