Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – Rain + Project
Main duties and Responsibilities
  • Review the RAIN+ M&E plan and ensure its implementation.
  • Review and update quarterly surveys, sampling methodologies and tools for data collections
  • With support from PSO, review the field monitoring forms and ensure they are uploaded in the DDGs and that CDFs are regularly collecting data on monthly basis.
  • Updating the dashboard every two months and provide summary of key areas for review during quarterly and /or monthly meeting.
  • Ensure partner organisations and involved in review and design of monitoring systems.
  • Provide technical support for the project staff on use of the Digital Data Gathering Devices (DDG) and to be local focal point person for any trouble shooting.
  • Technical backstopping for the quarterly surveys that will be conducted as and when planned.
  • Support the gathering of reliable project performance data based on agreed data collection tools to monitor and understand project outcomes, outputs and process indicators.
  • Contribute to developing regular summary analysis of data for different reports as requested.
  • Lead the projects’ data quality check before entering to the dashboard, and provide regular feedback to the field team on the quality of the data.
  • Actively takes part in project review meetings and provide information from the database to Concern and partners for management decision.
  • Conduct regular visits to projects’ target communities to monitor markets, consumption and agriculture production.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify data and provide feedback to improve data collection methodologies and approaches.
  • To facilitate learning events for the wider RAIN+ team including key partners for gathering and distilling learning and adjustment of the monitoring framework and tools.
  • Train Concern and partner staff as required.
  • Work with Nutrition officer/Consultant to conduct barrier analysis for RAIN+
  • Support the Stories of Change longitudinal studies on women empowerment.
  • Conduct inputs distribution checks and help with distribution report/reconciliation.
  • Assist with end line evaluation of the project by the external consultants.
  • Perform any other tasks aimed at improving the project requested by the line manager.
Others duties
  • Contributes to the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership ( HAP) and Programme Participants Protection Policy (P4) as described in the HR Manual
  • Any other tasks aimed at improving Concern’s programme quality in Zambia as requested by the line manager.
Education, Qualifications
Essential: University degree in Statistics, Mathematics or IT
Desirable: Additional training in M&E. Degree or qualification in a development subject including nutrition, agriculture, gender or similar.
Experience Required:
  • Experience in field data collection, data quality control, data management and analysis
    Strong Experience  in using digital data gathering devices ( DDG)
  • Experiences in working with projects related to agriculture, gender, nutrition and health
Special Skills, Aptitude or Personality Requirements:
  • Ability to ride a motorbike
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Ability to use software packages such as SPSS
  • Experience in working with a team
